Club Training & Events

In keeping with the Club Constitution and for Insurance purposes, a new Member Application must have been ratified by the Committee prior to participation in courses and use of the Clubs’ equipment. Bookings are essential, and costs are as advised.

Woodturning Courses:

Woodturning courses are conducted throughout the year, scheduled as required and for members only. The three day course is conducted at the club on Saturdays. This course is compulsory for new members who will learn woodturning techniques from experienced turners. Participants are taught lathe familiarisation & operation, and how to safely use and control hand tools. Small turning projects completed during the course may include a small bowl, a platter and a small vase, with other projects attempted as time permits. Class sizes are restricted so that individual attention is guaranteed. Attendees receive a Certificate of Completion.

Cost: $200.00 per attendee and must be paid prior to enrollment.

Membership fee is $70:00 and also must be paid in advance.

Supporting Charity:

Each year the Club votes at the Annual General Meeting to support a nominated Charity. Members are encouraged to turn “Charity Bowls” using club supplied blanks. These items are offered for sale to the public at demonstration events, with all proceeds going to the nominated charity. The current nominated Charity is the Children’s Ward at Mt Druitt Hospital.
